Amastuola, Negroamaro 2024

The Negroamaro grape is something of a local speciality in Puglia—capable of making, as the name suggests, deeply coloured wines with the character of dark fruits. The Amastuola Negroamaro has a good rich red colour in the glass, and attractive fruity aromas that introduce its blackberry, black cherry and plum character. There's also a herbal element to its charm, with the slight bitterness of thyme or oregano and brighter menthol notes. It's a direct, rustic red with plenty of juicy fruit. 

Try it with roast pork or a chili con carne.
