Ecker-Eckhof, Zweigelt Brillant 2025

Get to know: Ecker-Eckhof, Zweigelt Brillant

Tasting Note

This lovely Austrian red is a great introduction to the Zweigelt grape variety. It has nose full of peppery cherries and raspberry with a slight smokiness. The flavours are similar with a round, juicy texture and gentle tannins on a savoury finish. It suits being slightly chilled, especially in the summer.

Try this with grilled meats.

Kate Says

"The Ecker family have been making wine in the Wagram area of Austria for over 400 years. This uses the local variety Zweigelt which you should try if you enjoy grenache as its full of juicy dark cherry and raspberry fruit and warm spice. It really comes into its own with barbecue food."
